Imhotek

The First cast people want before they need.

Ancient name, future technology.

Imhotek Medical Systems makes custom orthopedic casts from a 3D scan of your limb: light, open to the air, and made to shower and swim in. In Arabic: العربية.

A scan, not a mold.

A handheld camera traces your arm. Nothing touches your skin.

A nurse 3D-scans a boy’s forearm with a handheld scanner, the first step of a custom Imhotek cast. No plaster, no mold.

Steady tonight. Ready tomorrow.

Broken bones cause swelling. Tonight a splint, shaped to you in hot water, holds it still while we make your cast.

What you can do.

It stays on for your whole treatment, in the water too. Shower, swim, rinse and towel dry.

A boy in the shower wearing a black Imhotek open-lattice arm cast, a cast you can shower and swim in.

Light enough to forget.

Open to the air, so skin stays dry and clean. Easier on kids, and on older skin.

Questions

Getting a cast

How do I get an Imhotek cast?

It starts with your doctor. After your assessment and imaging, your doctor decides whether an Imhotek cast is right for you and what it needs to do.

Your limb is then scanned, we design the cast, your doctor approves the design, and your care team fits it. Message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you where to start.

Is it suitable for my injury?

Your treating doctor decides. Not every injury is treated with a cast, and only your doctor can judge which cast, if any, is right for you.

Can children have one?

Our casts are shaped from a scan of one limb, whatever its size. Splnt also comes in child sizes.

Whether either is right for your child is decided by your child's doctor.

Where can I get one?

Imhotek is based in Hurghada, Egypt, and works with the Hurghada branch of AMC Hospital Group. Message us and we will point you to the right place. Contact

Do I need a diagnosis before I message you?

No. You can ask us anything first. Please don't send scans, X-rays or medical records over WhatsApp; your doctor shares what is needed.

What is the difference between Splnt and a cast?

Our casts are designed from a scan of your limb. Splnt is a separate, ready-made product in set adult and child sizes, for the left or right side. Your doctor chooses which one fits your treatment. See Splnt

Fit and everyday use

Is it comfortable?

No cast is completely comfortable. Imhotek is designed to reduce discomfort: it is lighter, open to the air, and shaped to your limb.

Can I take it off myself?

No. Don't remove, cut or refit the cast yourself, even though it closes with clips. Your doctor or a trained member of your care team removes it when the time is right.

If something feels wrong, see Urgent help.

Can I walk with the Below Knee cast?

Only if your doctor says so. Every Below Knee cast comes with a CastSole, but how much weight you put on your leg is your doctor's decision.

Can I scratch under the cast?

Don't push anything inside the cast. If itching or irritation continues, contact your care team.

Can I have an X-ray with the cast on?

The cast is designed to work within standard X-ray routines. Your doctor decides which imaging you need and whether the cast stays on for it.

Care and support

Can I shower or swim with it?

The cast itself is built to handle water. Whether you can shower or swim depends on your injury, so follow your doctor's instructions.

Water and cleaning

How do I clean and dry it?

Use mild soap and fresh water. After pool or sea water, rinse it well with fresh water.

Dry it gently with a towel. A hairdryer is fine only on a cool setting, kept moving. Never use hot air.

What should I watch for?

Contact your doctor straight away if you notice pain or swelling that gets worse, numbness or tingling, changes in skin colour or temperature, or loss of feeling.

If the cast is damaged or rubbing, contact us.

My cast is damaged or uncomfortable. What do I do?

Don't try to fix or adjust it. Message us on WhatsApp so we can help with your care team. If you have pain or swelling, contact your doctor.

Can a cast be reused?

Only if your doctor confirms it is appropriate.

Pricing and contact

How much does it cost?

It depends on the cast your doctor specifies. Message us on WhatsApp and we will give you the price.

How do I contact you?

WhatsApp is quickest. You can also email us. Contact

Can I use WhatsApp in an emergency?

No. WhatsApp is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call an ambulance or go to the nearest emergency department. Urgent help

Healthcare professionals

How does design approval work?

Your team scans the patient and sends the case requirements. We design the cast, and the treating doctor reviews and approves the design before anything is manufactured.

Who is clinically responsible?

The treating doctor. Imhotek designs and manufactures to the doctor's prescription; it does not replace clinical judgement.

Who fits and removes the cast?

The doctor or trained clinical staff. Emergency professionals can remove it when clinically necessary.

Can our hospital or clinic work with Imhotek?

Yes. We work with partner hospitals and also take individual cases. Training and support are part of the conversation.

Let’s find your fit.
